FOOD DONATION/ DISTRIBUTION SUNDAYS with KING’S KUBBARD
For those who are unaware, one of the ministries within our body is our King’s Kubbard. King’s Kubbard is an outlet of service for our church members and their families to show the love of God by providing food as needed. This ministry is totally funded by contributions of food and money from within our church family. On Food Donation Sunday (every other Sunday), volunteers place and pick up the contribution baskets. These baskets are placed at the entrance to our Sanctuary and in the breezeway to the Bible Study rooms. Volunteers check food dates and re-stock our storage food shelves. Volunteers shop for perishable food on Thursday/ Friday prior to Food Distribution Sunday. They package the food and store it our freezer or refrigerator. On Food Distribution Sunday (alternating Sundays), volunteers fill the lists of our recipients and distribute the food. Volunteers pick up donated bakery goods every other Saturday and Sunday at Publix between 7 and 7:30am on distribution weekends. Signs reminding congregants to bring food are placed at both parking lot entrances and in the front of the Sanctuary on donation Sundays at 8 am and are retrieved after church service. King’s Kubbard also helps with special drives such as Thanksgiving and Christmas baskets. With the Holidays right around the corner please consider that needs may be greater, and contact the ministry leaders Dan and Lisa Marckel if you would like to contribute or volunteer in anyway.

Whom Shall I Fear?
Living Hope
Welcome Pastor Al Walsh
Giving Lord, I Need You
Scripture Reading Isaiah 8.16-9.7

ISAIAH 8

16  Bind up the testimony; seal the teaching among my disciples.
17  I will wait for the LORD, who is hiding his face from the house of Jacob, and I will hope in him.
18  Behold, I and the children whom the LORD has given me are signs and portents in Israel from the LORD of hosts, who dwells on Mount Zion.
19  And when they say to you, “Inquire of the mediums and the necromancers who chirp and mutter,” should not a people inquire of their God? Should they inquire of the dead on behalf of the living?
20  To the teaching and to the testimony! If they will not speak according to this word, it is because they have no dawn.
21  They will pass through the land, greatly distressed and hungry. And when they are hungry, they will be enraged and will speak contemptuously against their king and their God, and turn their faces upward.
22  And they will look to the earth, but behold, distress and darkness, the gloom of anguish. And they will be thrust into thick darkness.

ISAIAH 9

1  But there will be no gloom for her who was in anguish. In the former time he brought into contempt the land of Zebulun and the land of Naphtali, but in the latter time he has made glorious the way of the sea, the land beyond the Jordan, Galilee of the nations.
2  The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light; those who dwelt in a land of deep darkness, on them has light shone.
3  You have multiplied the nation; you have increased its joy; they rejoice before you as with joy at the harvest, as they are glad when they divide the spoil.
4  For the yoke of his burden, and the staff for his shoulder, the rod of his oppressor, you have broken as on the day of Midian.
5  For every boot of the tramping warrior in battle tumult and every garment rolled in blood will be burned as fuel for the fire.
6  For to us a child is born, to us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace.
7  Of the increase of his government and of peace there will be no end, on the throne of David and over his kingdom, to establish it and to uphold it with justice and with righteousness from this time forth and forevermore. The zeal of the LORD of hosts will do this.

A Note from Pastor Al
Dear Church Family,
How we blessed we are to have a family of faith. This past Saturday/Sunday, for all of you present at both services, I shared what is going with our family. My daughter, our oldest in NC, has cancer again after 5 years clear. She is going into a season of a real battle against this deadly and heartless disease. As a result of how difficult this will be, we feel God is leading us to relocate to Durham, NC so we can come along side our daughter and family. The plan is fluid at this point. Step one is the sale of our home which will start about Oct 1st. Then we will make plans and move accordingly. For now, I will remain here doing the Lord’s work at KBC. You might see Amy a bit less as she takes multiple trips up there. The very best thing you can do is truly pray and hold us up in your prayers. I do feel a little like Moses, my arms are tired and weary. I need the strength that only our Savior and Holy Spirit gives. Remember our entire family, Allison’s husband Matt, our 3 grands, and all the extended family. We are asking for a miracle beyond human explanation. Thank You!

WORK DAYS!
Christmas 1944 has multiple set building workdays. The one for this Saturday, 9/22 has been cancelled. Next Saturday, Sept. 29th at 8:30 we have one. Then about every other Saturday we will call them until all the sets are made. Please bring gloves, anyone able bodied enough to saw, hammer, paint is welcome. Also, power tools are needed for those who have them and know how to use them. Please come and help because what we do here may lead to a person’s salvation who attends this evangelistic event.

Where can I serve an Hour on Sundays?
For those of you who have not chosen to be helpers in children or youth Bible study program, we have two other options that might work.

We need Parking lot/Door Greeters on Sunday morning. We want to meet people right when they get out of their car. On the first Sunday meet in the lobby and 8:45am and you will be assigned a spot.
