Call To Worship Immortal, Invisible, God Only Wise
Scripture Reading Kim Devane Job 1.8-22
8 And the LORD said to Satan, “Have you considered my servant Job, that there is none like him on the earth, a blameless and upright man, who fears God and turns away from evil?”
9 Then Satan answered the LORD and said, “Does Job fear God for no reason?
10 Have you not put a hedge around him and his house and all that he has, on every side? You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
11 But stretch out your hand and touch all that he has, and he will curse you to your face.”
12 And the LORD said to Satan, “Behold, all that he has is in your hand. Only against him do not stretch out your hand.” So Satan went out from the presence of the LORD.
13 Now there was a day when his sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,
14 and there came a messenger to Job and said, “The oxen were plowing and the donkeys feeding beside them,
15 and the Sabeans fell upon them and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
16 While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, “The fire of God fell from heaven and burned up the sheep and the servants and consumed them, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
17 While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, “The Chaldeans formed three groups and made a raid on the camels and took them and struck down the servants with the edge of the sword, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
18 While he was yet speaking, there came another and said, “Your sons and daughters were eating and drinking wine in their oldest brother’s house,
19 and behold, a great wind came across the wilderness and struck the four corners of the house, and it fell upon the young people, and they are dead, and I alone have escaped to tell you.”
20 Then Job arose and tore his robe and shaved his head and fell on the ground and worshiped.
21 And he said, “Naked I came from my mother’s womb, and naked shall I return. The LORD gave, and the LORD has taken away; blessed be the name of the LORD.”
22 In all this Job did not sin or charge God with wrong.

WHY DON’T WE HAVE A CHURCH BULLETIN BOARD?
I have been asked that question for years. We just never had a location to put one up. Well, NOW WE DO! The location is right next to the Church Library. They have given us half of their bulletin board. So what will go up there? Things for other members to know like…
- I have a car, boat, camper for sale
- I have a house or room to rent
- You can put your business card up there
- Any news item where you have or need something.
Please submit all items to the church office or Pastor Al on Sundays.

JOY GROUP FOR MAY 19th, 12 NOON
We are so excited to have Rance Williams speak. Rance is a new member since November, 2017. He is an active substitute teacher in our adult classes. Rance will be speaking at Joy Group on Archaeology in the land of the Bible. Lance has made 7 trips to the Holy Land and worked right along side archaeologists. His presentation will include pictures and actual artifacts from Israel. I encourage everyone not to miss this unique program. Flyers for sharing this with friends are at the Welcome Desk.
FPU CELEBRATION SUNDAY AND NEW TRIAD MAY 6th
This article is highlighting the next few weeks and months here at King’s Baptist Church.
Two weeks from now, Sunday May 6th we will have Celebration Sunday for all our Financial Peace University Graduates. On that day we will celebrate how much debt has been paid off, how many credit cards have been closed and how many dollars have been put into savings. It will be a great day for all of us.
In the next few months we move into our 3rd Triad of Head Hands and Hearts. This emphasis which will continue for 3 years will take us to some new areas of discipleship. This Triad we focus on our ministries to children and parents. Look forward to some new parenting training we have found to share with King’s members and guests.
Make sure you don’t miss a single Sunday. Exciting days to part of a vibrant Christian fellowship.
PARENT/ CHILD DEDICATION MAY 13th
We all look forward to a precious annual event at King’s. Sunday, May 13th is Mother’s Day and we will have Parent/Child Dedication in our Worship Service. There will be a registration form at the Welcome Desk starting this Sunday or you can sign up online. Submission deadline is Monday May 7th. Parent/Child dedication is for all parents who have added new children to your home in the past year or who have not had the opportunity to publicly dedicate themselves and their child to the Lord’s purpose.
This group is for men who have a tendency to isolate themselves; it is not a Bible study but a time to be real about struggles and temptations. We meet on Thursday evenings from 7:00-8:00 in room 400. Contact Pastor Bob for more details.
COME SING WITH THE CHOIR
Interested in making a joyful noise unto the Lord?
All are welcome, but there is a specific need for more MEN’S voices in the choir. Please see Kelley for more details.
