PROVERBS AND FRIENDSHIPS

17:9  Whoever covers an offense seeks love, but he who repeats a matter separates close friends.

17:14  The beginning of strife is like letting out water, so quit before the quarrel breaks out.

17:17  A friend loves at all times, and a brother is born for adversity.

18:19  A brother offended is more unyielding than a strong city, and quarreling is like the bars of a castle.

18:24  A man of many companions may come to ruin, but there is a friend who sticks closer than a brother.

19:4  Wealth brings many new friends, but a poor man is deserted by his friend.

19:6  Many seek the favor of a generous man, and everyone is a friend to a man who gives gifts.

20:6  Many a man claims his own steadfast love, but a faithful man who can find?

20:22  Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the LORD, and he will deliver you.

22:10  Drive out a scoffer, and strife will go out, and quarreling and abuse will cease.

24:26  Whoever gives an honest answer kisses the lips.

25:17  Let your foot be seldom in your neighbor’s house, lest he have his fill of you and hate you.

25:20  Whoever sings songs to a heavy heart is like one who takes off a garment on a cold day, and like vinegar on soda.

25:21  If your enemy is hungry, give him bread to eat, and if he is thirsty, give him water to drink,

25:22  for you will heap burning coals on his head, and the LORD will reward you.

26:18  Like a madman who throws firebrands, arrows, and death 19  is the man who deceives his neighbor and says, “I am only joking!”

27:5  Better is open rebuke than hidden love.

27:6  Faithful are the wounds of a friend; fuse are the kisses of an enemy.

27:9  Oil and perfume make the heart glad, and the sweetness of a friend comes from his earnest counsel.

27:10  Do not forsake your friend and your father’s friend, and do not go to your brother’s house in the day of your calamity. Better is a neighbor who is near than a brother who is far away.

27:14  Whoever blesses his neighbor with a loud voice, rising early in the morning, will be counted as cursing.

27:17  Iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another.

28:13  Whoever conceals his transgressions will not prosper, but he who confesses and forsakes them will obtain mercy.

28:23  Whoever rebukes a man will afterward find more favor than he who flatters with his tongue.

29:5  A man who flatters his neighbor spreads a net for his feet.

FROM PASTOR BOB

Our students are getting ready and excited to do “The 30 Hour Famine” on April 13 and 14.  They will be fasting, learning about world hunger, and raising money and awareness to save the millions of children that are dying from hunger related causes.  Please pray for and consider generously sponsoring one or more of our students as they fast and learn how they (with your partnership) can change the world.  You can choose to fund the Southern Baptist Global Hunger Relief (envelops are available) and/or World Vision. *** We need tents to house the youth for the overnight. If you have any or know of someone who does and wouldn’t mind loaning them to us for the duration of the event, please contact Pastor Bob.
